Bible Verses : Sin

(Exod20:14) 14You shall not commit adultery.

(Mt5:27-29) 27You have heard that it was said to the ancients: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28But I say to you, that anyone who will have looked at a woman, so as to lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29And if your right eye causes you to sin, root it out and cast it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your members perish, than that your whole body be cast into Hell.

(Mk7:20-23) 20“But,” he said “the things which go out from a man, these pollute a man. 21For from within, from the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22thefts, avarice, wickedness, deceitfulness, homosexuality, an evil eye, blasphemy, self-exaltation, foolishness. 23All these evils procede from within and pollute a man.”

(Mk10:11-12) 11And he said to them: “Whoever dismisses his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her. 12And if a wife dismisses her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”

(Lk16:18) 18Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who has been divorced by her husband commits adultery.

(Rom6:12-13) 12Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body, such that you would obey its desires. 13Nor should you offer the parts of your body as instruments of iniquity for sin. Instead, offer yourselves to God, as if you were living after death, and offer the parts of your body as instruments of justice for God.

(1Cor6:9-10) 9Do you not know that the iniquitous will not possess the kingdom of God? Do not choose to wander astray. For neither fornicators, nor servants of idolatry, nor adulterers, 10nor the effeminate, nor males who sleep with males, nor thieves, nor the avaricious, nor the inebriated, nor slanderers, nor the rapacious shall possess the kingdom of God.

(1Cor6:15) 15Do you not know that your bodies are a part of Christ? So then, should I take a part of Christ and make it a part of a harlot? Let it not be so!

(1Cor6:18-19) 18Flee from fornication. Every sin whatsoever that a man commits is outside of the body, but whoever fornicates, sins against his own body. 19Or do you not know that your bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

(1Cor10:8) 8And let us not commit fornication, as some of them fornicated, and so twenty-three thousand fell on one day.

(Ga5:16-17) 16So then, I say: Walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh desires against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. And since these are against one another, you may not do whatever you want.

(Ga5:24-25) 24For those who are Christ’s have crucified their flesh, along with its vices and desires. 25If we live by the Spirit, we should also walk by the Spirit.

(Colossians3:2-6) 2Consider the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth. 3For you have died, and so your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5Therefore, mortify your body, while it is upon the earth. For because of fornication, impurity, lust, evil desires, and avarice, which are a kind of service to idols, 6the wrath of God has overwhelmed the sons of unbelief.

(1Thess4:3-6) 3For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from fornication, 4that each one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, 5not in passions of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God, 6and that no one should overwhelm or circumvent his brother in business. For the Lord is the vindicator of all these things, just as we have preached and testified to you.

(Heb13:4) 4May marriage be honorable in every way, and may the marriage bed be immaculate. For God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

(Ja4:4) 4You adulterers! Do you not know that the friendship of this world is hostile to God? Therefore, whoever has chosen to be a friend of this world has been made into an enemy of God.

(Exod20:13) 13You shall not murder.

(Deut30:19) 19I call heaven and earth as witnesses this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your offspring may live,

(Job10:11-12) 11You have clothed me with skin and flesh. You have put me together with bones and nerves. 12You have assigned to me life and mercy, and your visitation has preserved my spirit.

(Job31:15) 15Is not he who created me in the womb, also he who labored to make him? And did not one and the same form me in the womb?

(Psa139:13-15) 13For you have possessed my temperament. You have supported me from the womb of my mother. 14I will confess to you, for you have been magnified terribly. Your works are miraculous, as my soul knows exceedingly well. 15My bone, which you have made in secret, has not been hidden from you, and my substance is in accord with the lower parts of the earth.

(Prov24:11-12) 11Rescue those who are led away to death. And do not cease from delivering those who are dragged away to a violent death. 12If you would say: “I do not have sufficient strength.” He who inspects the heart, the same one understands, and nothing slips past the one who preserves your soul. And he shall repay a man according to his works.

(Isa1:15) 15And so, when you extend your hands, I will avert my eyes from you. And when you multiply your prayers, I will not heed you. For your hands are full of blood.

(Isa44:24) 24Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and your Maker from the womb: I am the Lord, who makes all things, who alone extends the heavens, who makes the earth firm. And there is no one with me.

(Isa49:1) 1Pay attention, you islands, and listen closely, you far away peoples. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the womb of my mother, he has been mindful of my name.

(Jer1:4-5) 4And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you went forth from the womb, I sanctified you. And I made you a prophet to the nations.”

(Mt7:2) 2For with whatever judgment you judge, so shall you be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, so shall it be measured back to you.

(Mt18:5) 5And whoever shall accept one such little child in my name, accepts me.

(Mt18:10) 10See to it that you do not despise even one of these little ones. For I say to you, that their Angels in heaven continually look upon the face of my Father, who is in heaven.

(Lk1:15) 15For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

(Lk1:39-44) 39And in those days, Mary, rising up, traveled quickly into the hill country, to a city of Judah. 40And she entered into the house of Zechariah, and she greeted Elizabeth. 41And it happened that, as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42And she cried out with a loud voice and said: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43And how does this concern me, so that the mother of my Lord would come to me? 44For behold, as the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.

(Jn10:10) 10The thief does not come, except so that he may steal and slaughter and destroy. I have come so that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.

(Acts5:29) 29But Peter and the Apostles responded by saying: “It is necessary to obey God, more so than men.

(1Cor3:16-17) 16Do you not know that you are the Temple of God, and that the Spirit of God lives within you? 17But if anyone violates the Temple of God, God will destroy him. For the Temple of God is holy, and you are that Temple.

(1Cor3:18-19) 18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may be truly wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. And so it has been written: “I will catch the wise in their own astuteness.”

(1Tim6:20) 20O Timothy, guard what has been deposited with you, avoiding the voice of profane novelties and of opposing ideas, which are falsely called knowledge.

September 16, 1937. I wanted very much to make a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament today, but God's will was otherwise. At eight o'clock I was seized with such violent pains that I had to go to bed at once. I was convulsed with pain for three hours; that is, until eleven o'clock at night. No medicine had any effect on me, and whatever I swallowed I threw up. At times, the pains caused me to lose consciousness. Jesus had me realize that in this way I took part in His Agony in the Garden, and that He himself allowed these sufferings in order to offer reparation to God for the souls murdered in the wombs of wicked mothers. I have gone through these sufferings three times now. They always start at eight o'clock in the evening and last until eleven. No medicine can lessen these sufferings. When eleven o'clock comes, they cease by themselves, and I fall asleep at that moment. The following day, I feel very weak.
This happened to me for the first time when I was at the sanatorium. The doctors couldn't get to the bottom of it, and no injection or medicine helped me at all nor did I myself have any idea of what the sufferings were about. I told the doctor that never before in my life had I experienced such sufferings, and he declared he did not know what sort of pains they are. But now I understand the nature of these pains, because the Lord himself has made this known to me.... Yet when I think that I may perhaps suffer in this way again, I tremble. But I don't know whether I'll ever again suffer in this way; I leave that to God. What it pleases God to send, I will accept with submission and love. If only I could save even one soul from murder by means of these sufferings! (Diary of St. Faustina, 1276)

(Isa59:2) 2But your iniquities have made a division between you and your God, and your sins have concealed his face from you, so that he would not hear.

(Psa50:16-22) 16But to the sinner, God has said: Why do you discourse on my justices, and take up my covenant through your mouth? 17Truly, you have hated discipline, and you have cast my sermons behind you. 18If you saw a thief, you ran with him, and you have placed your portion with adulterers. 19Your mouth has abounded with malice, and your tongue has concocted deceits. 20Sitting, you spoke against your brother, and you set up a scandal against your mother’s son. 21These things you have done, and I was silent. You thought, unjustly, that I ought to be like you. But I will reprove you, and I will set myself against your face. 22Understand these things, you who forget God; lest at any time, he might quickly take you away, and there would be no one to rescue you.

(Mt1:21) 21And she shall give birth to a son. And you shall call his name JESUS. For he shall accomplish the salvation of his people from their sins.”

(Mt5:28) 28But I say to you, that anyone who will have looked at a woman, so as to lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

(Mt12:36-37) 36But I say to you, that for every idle word which men will have spoken, they shall render an account in the day of judgment. 37For by your words shall you be justified, and by your words shall you be condemned.”

(Lk11:4) 4And forgive us our sins, since we also forgive all who are indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”

(Lk16:15) 15And he said to them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of men. But God knows your hearts. For what is lifted up by men is an abomination in the sight of God.

(Jn8:24) 24Therefore, I said to you, that you will die in your sins. For if you will not believe that I am, you will die in your sin.”

(Jn8:34) 34Jesus answered them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.

(Jn15:22) 22If I had not come and had not spoken to them, they would not have sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin.

(Acts3:19) 19Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away.

(Acts22:16) 16And now, why do you delay? Rise up, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, by invoking his name.’

(Rom2:3-6) 3But, O man, when you judge those who do such things as you yourself also do, do you think that you will escape the judgment of God? 4Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and patience and forbearance? Do you not know that the kindness of God is calling you to repentance? 5But in accord with your hard and impenitent heart, you store up wrath for yourself, unto the day of wrath and of revelation by the just judgment of God. 6For he will render to each one according to his works:

(Rom6:23) 23For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(1Cor11:27-29) 27And so, whoever eats this bread, or drinks from the cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be liable of the body and blood of the Lord. 28But let a man examine himself, and, in this way, let him eat from that bread, and drink from that cup. 29For whoever eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks a sentence against himself, not discerning it to be the body of the Lord.

(Ga5:19-21) 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest; they are: fornication, lust, homosexuality, self-indulgence, 20the serving of idols, drug use, hostility, contentiousness, jealousy, wrath, quarrels, dissensions, divisions, 21envy, murder, inebriation, carousing, and similar things. About these things, I continue to preach to you, as I have preached to you: that those who act in this way shall not obtain the kingdom of God.

(Ga6:7-8) 7Do not choose to wander astray. God is not to be ridiculed. 8For whatever a man will have sown, that also shall he reap. For whoever sows in his flesh, from the flesh he shall also reap corruption. But whoever sows in the Spirit, from the Spirit he shall reap eternal life.

(Eph4:29) 29Let no evil words proceed from your mouth, but only what is good, toward the edification of faith, so as to bestow grace upon those who listen.

(Ja1:15) 15Thereafter, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin. Yet truly sin, when it has been consummated, produces death.

(Ja4:17) 17Therefore, he who knows that he ought to do a good thing, and does not do it, for him it is a sin.

(Ja5:16) 16Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be saved. For the unremitting prayer of a just person prevails over many things.

(Ja5:20) 20he ought to know that whoever causes a sinner to be converted from the error of his ways will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

(1Pet2:24) 24He himself bore our sins in his body upon the tree, so that we, having died to sin, would live for justice. By his wounds, you have been healed.

(1Pet4:8) 8But, before all things, have a constant mutual charity among yourselves. For love covers a multitude of sins.

(1Jn1:9) 9If we confess our sins, then he is faithful and just, so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.

(1Jn2:2) 2And he is the propitiation for our sins. And not only for our sins, but also for those of the whole world.

(1Jn2:3-4) 3And we can be sure that we have known him by this: if we observe his commandments. 4Whoever claims that he knows him, and yet does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

(1Jn3:5) 5And you know that he appeared in order that he might take away our sins. For in him there is no sin.

(1Jn3:8) 8Whoever commits sin is of the devil. For the devil sins from the beginning. For this reason, the Son of God appeared, so that he might eradicate the works of the devil.

(1Jn3:15) 15Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding within him.
